Some Kites, Some Sun and Some Birdies

I haven't been to the beach in Southern California in forever! I live about a mile away! It's so silly. I love the feeling of the sand in my toes and the feeling of toasty sunkissed skin. (I know, I know Granny, "Put on my sunblock!" ♥)   These kites filled the sky and floated and bounced delicately in the warm salty air. Some were kites that people on the sand were flying and some were kite surfing in the water. So beautiful. 

And to make this day even more nice, my photo was featured here. What a lovely treat!

Longing for wispy bent over grasses
     home to flitting monarchs

Pebble strewn shores
     stretching along crashing whirlpool waves

Scuttling creatures
    peeking from dug out dens

Perfectly warm and cool breezes
    tickling my sun-kissed skin

Heavy lidded
     falling into dreams
     as he collects treasures
