Get Lost in a Story

You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~ C. S. Lewis

I love books.  I'm always browsing through the books at the store - real books.  You know with real pages and real paper?  I just love to touch them, love to look at the art on the covers.  I'm always buying books with the good intention to read them.  I miss reading.  I haven't been doing much of it lately, but I always miss it.  Lately, I always find myself grabbing a book off my shelf then not reading it.  Then I grab a different one, and the same thing.  I need to get back in the habit.  To get lost in lost in a story.  To lose track of all time.  To quiet the world around me.  You know the books that aren't long enough, even the thickest ones with the teeniest letters?  The ones you catch yourself reaching for first thing when you wake up and read a few pages before you climb out of bed or falling asleep with it on your pillow?  I need to find one of these.  Any great books you're reading that you can't bare to put down?

  3. Yep, I love the feel of a book in hand.
And, it does have to have a good "feel".
I love reading and would love to recommend a few to you.
The ones I've loved recently are on my blog under the tab "Recommended Books" :)
My suggestion is to find like-minded people by joining a local book group.
You'll read a variety of books and have fun discussing them.

  4. I feel the same way. Don't think I will EVER come around to the 'Kindle' scene, it's just not the same. I go through spurts, where I will read a 1/2 dozen books, one right after the other, then none for a while. Then I will crave it again. There's one I read recently by Francene Rivers called 'Redeeming Love'. Don't know if you have read it, but it was moving beyond words. I want to grab some other titles by her!

  7. sometimes I feel the same way.. I have some favorites I reach for to read over and over when I am stuck in a book rut ( I own 10 copies of Persuasion by Jane Austen) I tried to do the reading on my iphone thing but its seems impersonal..
